Springer Nature Managing Director Books visited Smart Learning Institute of Beijing Normal University

On April 29, Dr. Niels Peter Thomas, Managing Director Books, Springer Nature, accompanied by LI Yan, the Editorial Director of Humanities and Social Sciences and Book Director of China, XIE Ran, the Editor of Education Books in East Asia, CUI Lili, the Senior Authorization Manager, and RAN Lu, the Account Manager visited the Smart Learning Institute of Beijing Normal University. During the visit, they engaged in discussions with Prof. HUANG Ronghuai, the Co-Dean of Smart Learning Institute of Beijing Normal University, CHANG Tingwen, the Assistant to the Dean, YAO Youjie, the Director of the Educational Robots Center, WANG Huanhuan, an Assistant Researcher, and Da Ting, a Postdoctoral Fellow.
 
Dr. Niels Peter Thomas and his team introduced the array of AI tools, databases, and services developed by Springer, paving the way for discussions on potential collaborations in the realm of artificial intelligence and education. Dr. Niels Peter Thomas expressed his aspiration to bolster future partnerships with Smart Learning Institute through the utilization of Springer’s AI products and services. In response, Professor HUANG Ronghuai expressed eagerness to collaborate with Springer, particularly in the realms of textbook formats and resource production. He proposed the idea of co-hosting international seminars with domestic publishers to foster further cooperation opportunities.
 
The collaboration between the Smart Learning Institute of Beijing Normal University and Springer Nature has resulted in the co-editing of two book series: “Lecture Notes in Educational Technology” and “Smart Computing and Intelligence”, alongside the publication of two international journals, “Smart Learning Environments” and “Journal of Computers in Education”. Notably, these publications have garnered attention and recognition within the academic community, earning inclusion in key databases such as SCOPUS and SCImago.
