Smart Learning Institute

From September 27 to 30, the third ICSLE (The 3th International Conference on Smart Learning Environment) was held in Tunisia. As the conference chair, Professor Ronghuai Huang, Co-Dean of Smart Learning Institute of Beijing Normal University, attended the meeting. Tingwen Change, director of the International Communication and Cooperation Center and Dr. Jing Du were also present.

During the conference, professor Huang made the report Using Learning Analytics to Enhance Synthetic Learning: the Approaches and Challenges. The group published three papers: A Review of Using Augmented Reality in Education from 2011 to 2016, A Conceptual Framework for a Smart Learning Engine and Investigation of Key School-related Indicators Influencing ICT in K-12 Education. All the papers and researches got wide attention from experts and scholars at the meeting and triggered a heated discussion.

In addition, Professor Huang discussed plans for future cooperation with the secretary-general of ALESCO Dr. Abdullah Hamad Muhareb and the director of ICT Department Dr. Mohamed Jemni, such as jointly organizing international conferences and promoting communication of teachers and students between League of Arab States and Beijing Normal University etc., with the view to create more opportunities of international exchanges and cooperation for the institute with League of Arab States .
