Spanish Ministry of Education: Celaá and his European counterparts analyze the impact of covid-19 on Education

Isabel Celaá, Minister of education and vocational training, met with his European counterparts at the fourth informal video conference of EU education ministers yesterday afternoon.
The reason for the meeting was to share lessons learned from the covid-19 crisis, analyze its impact on system quality and equity, and understand the plans for the 2020-2021 school year.
She points to the "huge stress tests" the pandemic has brought to the education system, and she and her colleagues agree that face-to-face education is irreplaceable.
Ministers also stressed the need to strengthen the digital skills of students and teachers and to protect the most vulnerable groups by promoting more inclusive, equitable and quality education.
"We need a common and comprehensive response from the EU as a whole to this people-oriented covid-19 crisis," Celaá concluded
