His research focuses on educational informatization, smart learning environments, technology-supported innovative teaching models, and artificial intelligence in education. His courses have been selected as National Excellent Courses and National Excellent Resource-Sharing Courses. He has received numerous honors, including the National Teaching Achievement Award, the Beijing Higher Education Teaching Master Award, the Award for Outstanding Scientific Research Achievements in Higher Education, the National Award for Outstanding Achievements in Educational Science Research, as well as recognitions such as Beijing Excellent Teaching Team and Beijing Outstanding Teacher.

He has undertaken more than 100 national, provincial/ministerial, and institutional research projects, published over 60 books and edited volumes in Chinese and English, and authored more than 400 academic papers. He has applied for 76 intellectual property rights, with 60 approved registrations, including 29 patents.
