[GCD4FE]【For College Students】Interpreting the 6th Global Competition on Design for Future Education(2023)

The 6th Global Competition on Design for Future Education is jointly organized by Beijing Normal University, UNESCO Institute for Information Technologies in Education, domestic and foreign organizations, universities and well-known scientific and technological enterprises. For college students around the world, the competition opens Student tracks and 2023 Call for Posters for "My Vision for the Futures of Education", to demonstrate how teachers and students in different countries think about education and put it into practice to find high-quality solutions for global future education development.

Student Track
1.Registration and Team Building
March 1st-April 18th,2023
2.Participants
· Undergraduates and postgraduates from all over the world
· Majoring in education, design, computer science and other related majors.
· Enroll as an individual and then team up on the official website, eventually participate in a team of 5-6 persons (It is recommended to form a cross-border and cross-school team. Team members include at least 3 different majors, and at least one member is fluent in English.).
· A participant can only participate in one project. It is not allowed to add or replace members after shortlisted projects are released.
3.Competition Themes
· AI and Education: How can AI create infinite possibilities in the campus of the future, hybrid learning spaces, virtual teachers, and intelligent evaluation?
· Metaverse and Education: How can an immersive online space construct educational scenario in metaverse courses, metaverse conferences, and metaverse with digital twins?
· Rural Education: What design can help solve the needs of rural areas, such as teacher shortages, students' motivation improving, curriculum design based on rural resources, and foundational learning of literacy and numeracy skills?
· Inclusive Education: How can an educational model help include all students? Including inclusive learning environments, disadvantaged group (students with physical disabilities and health impairments, girls and women, the elderly) and specific group (students with learning difficulties, and gifted children).
· Artificial Intelligence, Big Data and Psychology: How to accurately access students' learning ability and status to effectively promote their mental health and well-being based on AI, Big Data, game-based and personalized psychological assessment and mental health, etc.?
Project Requirements
Participants should design projects based on the competition rules and explain the conception and ideology behind the projects with an analysis of project feasibility.
(1) Project Types
Physical Modeling Design: The objects or models of educational products need to present design concepts, pictures or videos of the objects or models, functions, etc.
Hardware Sketching Design: The sketches of educational hardware, hand-drawn or software-drawn products need to present design concepts, design drawings, renderings, functions, etc.
Software Prototyping Design: The prototype of educational software products need to present the logic, operation interface, function, etc.  
Solution Design: Feasible solutions for specific educational problems, including curriculum, resources, services, etc., need to present design concepts and detailed procedures.

4. Assessment Criteria
The work will be reviewed from five dimensions: problem awareness, innovation spirit, science and education integration, application prospect and presentation and expression. First review experts will select the shortlisted teams, mainly relying on the submitted materials and the final review experts will select the winning teams, mainly relying on the submitted materials and final presentations.

Call for Posters——“My Vision for the Futures of Education”
1.Poster Submission and Public Review
March 1st -May 18th, 2023

 Undergraduates and postgraduates across the world
3.Contents
Based on the principle of ensuring the inclusiveness, equity and fairness of education, posters could be used to display the futures of education. The content should be in line with the theme of UNESCO Futures of Education Initiative, including but not limited to, educational scenarios, learning methods, learning resources, future learners, etc.

4.Requirements
a.Only Chinese or English are available in the poster. The logo of "Global Competition on Design for Future Education" should be included, and other brand logos cannot appear on the poster. The content should be original and positive with a distinct theme, reflecting the concept of future education.
b.The poster should be in the vertical form, with a size of 70cm* 100cm, a resolution of 300dpi, RGB mode and JPG format. The file size cannot exceed 5M. The AI or PSD format of winning posters should also be provided. 
5.Assessment Principles

Posters will be evaluated on three dimensions--relevance, creativity, and expression. The Organizing Committee of the Competition will organize the first round review of the submitted works, and the shortlisted works will be released on the official Weibo (Chinese Account: 全球未来教育设计大赛) or Instagram (English Account: gcd4fe) for public review,Participants and audience can repost, comment and give a like to their favorite posters. Posters failing to pass the first review will not enter the next round. The winning posters will be evaluated comprehensively by the Judging Committee.
