Smart Learning Institute

On September 18th-19th, hosted by UNESCO and the Government of Slovenia, the 2nd World Open Educational Resources Congress was held in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. Irina Bokova, Director-General of UNESCO, Getachew Engida, Deputy Director-General, Milan Brglez, Chairman of the National Assembly of Slovenia, Tibor Navracsics, member of the EU Educational, Cultural, Youth and Sports Committee, Ministers of Education from 15 countries, and more than 600 experts and scholars from 105 countries attended this congress. Ronghuai Huang, Director of UNESCO International Research and Training Centre for Rural Education as well as Dean of SLI, together with Yuan Gao, Director of Open Educational Resources Lab, SLI were invited to attend this congress.
        The theme of this congress was “Open education resources for inclusive, fair and quality education: from commitments to action”. The Ljubljana OER Action Plan was released. At the forum of OER Supportive Policy Environment Development, Dean Ronghuai Huang made a report of The Development of China 's OER Supporting Policy Environment. This report made a comparison between China’s OER policies and Paris OER Declaration 2012, and discussed the supporting situation of China’s current OER policy. For the Ljubljana OER Action Plan, Dean Huang gave his feedback and further discussed with experts on-site. At the forum of OER Practice in Non-English-speaking Countries, Dr. Gao Yuan delivered the report of Chinese present situation of OER. In the report, she shared ideas around the eight parts of investment, infrastructure, open agreement, content, user, teaching method, output, summarized the situation of global and Chinese OER study, and analyzed with the example of 101 education PPT.
       Through this congress, Smart Learning Institute, the Center for Agriculture and Education established a broader link with international organizations and educational institutions, and discussed possible corporations.
